gtk-3-examples software package provides example files for GTK+ 3, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gtk-3-examples
gtk-3-examples is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gtk-3-examples package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gtk-3-examples *
You will get with gtk-3-examples package name, version, architecture and description in a table
